WOOD & Co.’s representative re-elected to the Board of the Financial Markets Association of Italy
(ASSIOM FOREX)
At the 25th Annual Congress of Financial Markets Operators, held on 1-2 February 2019 in Rome, Sergio Zora, Managing Director of WOOD & Company’s Italian branch, was re-elected to the Board of the Financial Markets Association of Italy (ASSIOM FOREX), along with other representatives from the key Italian banking and financial institutions. Since WOOD & Co. opened its Milan office in 2014, it has always had a representative on ASSIOM FOREX’s Board of Directors. Over 2014-16, Dario Sala Veni was elected to the board, who was appointed as Head of the Forex Committee in 2016. Mr. Zora was elected to the board for the first time in 2016, for a three-year period.
The Congress of Financial Markets Operators is organised by ASSIOM FOREX and has always been actively supported by the Bank of Italy. The event was launched with a speech on monetary policy and market developments by Ignazio Visco, Governor of the Italian Central Bank and an alternate member of the International Monetary Fund’s board of governors, and was attended by over 1,500 participants from financial institutions, representatives of highly-ranked banking groups and local authorities.
ASSIOM FOREX encourages the professional growth of financial operators through education, and by disseminating technical information and market practices. It also contributes to the development and integrity of the domestic financial markets in a very dynamic and competitive European and international context. With a history of over 60 years and more than 1,400 members, representing about 450 financial institutions, it is one of the most important and well-represented financial associations both nationally and internationally.
